How to connect a wallet to Hyperliquid

Updated 2026-11-04 · 4 min read · Unofficial, independent guide. Not affiliated with Hyperliquid.

You can use Hyperliquid with a browser wallet like MetaMask or Rabby, or sign in with email. Here's how each works.

Option 1: Browser wallet

  1. Install a wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby from its official site, and back up the seed phrase offline.
  2. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz (or the HYQUID referral link) and click Connect.
  3. Choose your wallet and approve the connection.
  4. Enable trading by signing a message. Signing a message doesn't cost gas.

Option 2: Email login

  1. Click Connect and choose email.
  2. Enter the code sent to your inbox.
  3. A wallet is created for you. The docs explain how to export it if you later want to move to your own wallet.
An email account and a wallet account are separate accounts with separate balances. Deposit to the one you'll keep using.
