Does Hyperliquid require KYC?
No KYC is required to start trading on Hyperliquid: you connect a wallet or sign in with email. But no KYC does not mean anyone can use it. Some regions are restricted by the terms of use.
No identity verification
There is no ID upload, selfie or address check. You trade from a wallet you control. That is one of the main reasons traders choose it over centralized exchanges.
Restricted regions
Hyperliquid's terms of use exclude:
- U.S. persons, including people residing, located or incorporated in the United States
- Residents of Ontario, Canada
- Sanctioned jurisdictions, such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and occupied regions of Ukraine
The terms do not give an exhaustive country list, so read the current version before you trade.
Your local rules matter too
Even where Hyperliquid itself is available, your country may regulate offshore crypto platforms. In 2026, for example, Vietnam introduced fines for trading on unlicensed platforms, and South Korea blocked access to a number of unregistered overseas exchanges.
